Introducing the ZR-8630AV MultiZone Receiver from
Niles that is built upon the concepts and advanced technologies
of the award-winning ZR-4630 to provide the total one-box solution
for home entertainment. It’s the perfect blend of simplicity,
automation and value that you and your customers have been asking
for. The ZR-8630AV delivers composite video as well as audio
to six listening zones throughout the home. It combines with
IntelliPad® Ci Keypads, IR sensors, and Niles R-8 remotes
to provide simultaneous multi-zone access and control of two
internal AM/FM stereo tuners and up to six external audio/video
sources. A built-in 12-channel amplifier delivers a robust 30
watts per channel to each zone for clear and dynamic sound, even
into low-impedance loads. This benchmark product will change
the way custom installers distribute entertainment throughout
the home. IR codes for controlling external audio/video sources
are programmed and stored in the ZR-8630AV, dramatically reducing
installation time.

MultiZone/MultiSource Control.
The ZR-8630AV incorporates the latest in matrix-based technology
to distribute up to eight sources (including
the two built-in stereo tuners and up to six
external audio/video sources) to six listening/viewing zones
simultaneously. Dad can view and listen to his favorite DSS
program in the den, the kids can enjoy rock ’n roll by
the pool, while mom relaxes to classical music in the tub.
Reliable, One Touch Operation. A
single touch of a Master Key on the IntelliPad® Ci Select
IR keypad or Source Button on the R-8 remote initiates the
ZR-8630AV to issue a sequence
(macro) of up to 64 IR commands and delays. Sync Inputs on
the ZR-8630AV sense whether the connected source components
are on
or off. Depending upon the power state of the source components,
the appropriate power commands are issued, then the desired
input is selected, followed by the sequence of IR commands,
i.e., Play
or Favorite Station. This intelligent power synchronization
found in the ZR-8630AV is fundamental to reliable one button
control
and imperative for system control from a remote location.
Zone Status Provides Optimum User Feedback. The ZR-8630AV
displays key system attributes. From any zone a user can
immediately detect whether their zone is on/off or muted,
as well as know
what source is currently selected and if that source is use
in a different zone.
System-Wide Control For Greater Convenience.
From anywhere in the home, the ZR-8630AV enables the activation
of all zones to a particular source component.
Additionally, a global "All Off" command
can initiate the entire system to shut down from any zone.
When system-wide commands are issued all keypads in the system
update to reflect the newly selected source and status.
Elegant and Intuitive Interfaces.
One-touch keypad operation is provided by the attractive
IntelliPad® Ci
Select keypad. The keypads provide automated system activation
and source selection,
and can be custom labeled to match the system. For direct
access and advanced transport capability, simply add the IntelliPad
Ci Numeric™ and Transport accessory keypads to the Select
IR keypad. Keypads are available in three designer colors — almond,
bone and white (inserts included with keypad). Keypad connections
utilize runs of CAT5 wiring and terminate with RJ-45 connectors.
The R-8 remote control, included with the ZR-8630AV, provides
complete system control using IntelliPad® Ci Select IR and
Niles IR Sensors. Additional remotes are available so you
can outfit any location with a dedicated "zone remote."
Robust power, superior components and design deliver rich
clear sound. A built-in 12 channel amplifier delivers a solid

clear and dynamic stereo sound. Its robust design enables
it to handle
low-impedance loads.
Home Theater Integration. The
ZR-8630AV features a home theater sync input and
an IR command input that enables the ZR-4630
to know the power state of the home theater system.
This allows shared components to be powered on and off in the
appropriate manner.
Simplified programming and installation.
All IR codes are programmed and stored in
the ZR-8630AV. Unlike systems that require
programming at all keypad locations, programming and editing
occurs only at the receiver — dramatically reducing installation
time. Programming is accomplished quickly and easily
via a simple step-by-step process that is guided by LED prompts.
The ZR-8630AV uses non-volatile memory for storing the programming
to guard against accidental loss. Completed programming can
be archived/imported using the included DB-9 connector and
ZR Source Library and Archiving software.
The twelve channels on the ZR-8630AV feature Niles' patented
no-strip speaker wire terminals. This two-piece
connector enables you to terminate speaker cable without
having to strip the conductor. And because the terminal is
keyed, you
’re
guaranteed an in-phase connection every time.
Expandable for larger systems.
Up to three ZR-8630AV units can be combined in a
single system to provide up to
18 zones
of listening pleasure. Source components
connect to all receivers, splitting their audio signals
by utilizing RCA Y-adapters
or Niles AVDA-3 Audio/Video Distribution Amplifiers.
